Release of the Butterflies

The excitement was in the air to release the butterflies.

The children had a great time studying the life cycle of a butterfly. They will remember the true meaning of metamorphosis, they saw it happen with their own eyes.

We were about to release the first painted lady butterfly back into nature.

Introduction to the Decimal System

This 4 year old child is working on the Introduction to the decimal system. The purpose of this lesson is to introduce written symbols which correspond to the quantities of the decimal system, to associate printed numerals to quantities of decimal system. To reinforce position of each category in relation to place value from right to left.

As you can see she is very proud of her work.

The Snake Game

This child is working on combinations of ten. He retrieves the number of colored beads that are written on the red "snake", then he counts out combinations of ten and exchanges it for a golden ten bead bar. After the child counts all of the colored beads he will have a "Golden Snake". The total of the snake will add up to one hundred.

The purpose of this lesson is to demonstrate the formation of tens in all combinations. Practice skip counting by 10s. If the child chooses to they may write down the equations on paper.

Art History Cards

This 3 year old child is working on matching art cards together. As the child progresses she will recognize the artist particular style of strokes in the paintings and or pictures.

Constructive Triangles-Triangular Box

This Child is working on Constructing Triangles. He traces the black lines then forms the shape of a triangle.The purpose is to develop visual perception of geometric shapes. Familiarization with the triangle as the constructor of plane geometric figures, indirect preparation for geometry and fractions also development of appreciation of form and line.

Welcome to Mrs. Kellie's Class. It has been an exciting year! We are now in the stages of studying our live insects, our ever so popular Praying Mantis Sac, Tadpoles and Painted Lady Caterpillars. The children are keeping a close eye on them and will send more updates soon.
